Node Types

Overview

Learn about the different node types available for deployment.

We currently support a hyperconverged platform that utilises the NexVisor architecture (which is based on Xen) with support for Ubuntu 24.04 running KVM coming soon. These deployments allow you to consolidate your computing resources, simplifying management and improving efficiency.

NexVisor

The NexVisor Xen platform is currently supported and enables compute for instances alongside GPUaaS Pools and GPU Passthrough. This platform has it's own installer based on a UEFI ISO image.

KVM (Coming soon)

A second option is the KVM platform that will also enable compute for instances alongside GPUaaS Pools and GPU Passthrough. Additionally, KVM's GPU Passthrough includes support for GPU cards requiring nvlink, enabling high-bandwidth communication between GPUs. This is deployed using the apt package manager on a base Ubuntu 24.04 platform.

Standalone GPUaaS Nodes

A third option is to add standalone nodes with GPUs running Ubuntu 24.04 to the Admin panel. The nodes are initialised and managed by the Admin panel directly and can host the GPUaaS Pools. This deployment option can be used in cases where GPUs are located elsewhere or when the fully integrated hypervisor option is not preferred.
